Our Lucky Mutts Need You!
We can always use help with pretty much everything from dog transportation to education and events! We also have lots of ideas for help on our donations page. Volunteering: Open Positions The positions below are an example of some of the ways you can get involved with Lucky Mutts. However, we can use your skills and time in many other ways as well. If you’re interested in volunteering but none of the positions below appeal to you, simply write an email to: info@luckymutts.com and let us know what you’re good at and what your availability is. We’ll find a way to put you to work! EDUCATION COORDINATOR: We need someone to take charge of the big picture for our education project, working closely with the Lucky Mutts Board. The sky is the limit. If you have a background in education — at any level — and want to develop some great curriculum materials — with the help of more volunteers — we need you! TIME COMMITMENT: Several hours a week on an ongoing basis EDUCATION DEVELOPERS: We need people to develop curriculum materials for use in schools and at events for children and adults alike. If you’re a teacher who wants to do a unit on dogs we’d love to collaborate with you! TIME COMMITMENT: As much time as it takes to create and teach the unit EVENT VOLUNTEERS: We need folks to help us with Meet & Greets and to transport dogs and various other tasks associated with one day events in Austin. TIME COMMITMENT: A few hours here and there through out the year
FUNDRAISER: We need someone who can keep track of all the little fundraisers we do and help up select and prepare for additional ones, evaluate the benefits of participation in various fundraising activities and identify additional sources of income.
TIME COMMITMENT: As much as you make it but most likely a few hours a week on average
PUBLIC RELATIONS: Lucky Mutts needs some PR! We are currently looking for people to help get us published in the local papers and magazines. Like most of our opportunities, no experience is required, but if you already have contacts, that’s great! TIME COMMITMENT: you determine! GRANT WRITER: Do you have the skills to research appropriate grants and write proposals? This could either be a one time gig or an ongoing endeavor to help support our cause.
