| Rosie would love to meet you! | | Found wandering the streets, Rosie was 20lbs underweight, and obviously had recently had puppies. Unfortunately, the puppies could not be found.
Rosie is a beautiful 3 year old Rottweiler who loves to play with other dogs, and gets along with cats and kids. As a typical Rottie, she is a goofball, sensitive, and curious about all kinds of things, like looking at herself in the mirror. Rosie is loving basic obedience training, is crate trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations.
Rosie is heartworm positive, and is starting treatment soon. The costs are being covered by a non-profit animal foundation. This is the best time to find Rosie’s forever home since she will need to be calm and just chill after treatment. After her treatment, she will be healthy.
You will fall in love with her the second you meet her.
An adoption application and adoption fee will apply. Contact Rosie’s foster mom at marti2heal@yahoo.com.

| Simply Adorable | | This little pit or pit mix puppy was found wondering in Central Austin near a couple of very busy streets. Fortunately for him, a good samaritan scooped him up and kept him safe. He is the sweetest little boy and just thinks people, other dogs, and and even cats are his best friends! He is house trained and comfortable in a crate. He loves car rides and will just curl up in the seat next to you for a nap while you drive. He is about 3, maybe 4 months old. We would love to find a permanent foster for this little guy. If you are looking for a devoted friend, this little guy might just be a perfect match. | | American Pitbull Mix, neutered male, 25lbs | | |

| A treasure awaits you! | Pearl is an adult female, spayed chihauhau. Her age is estimated to be 5-6 years old. She is timid at first and then warms up. She simply needs a patient family. Her background is unknown. She was found abandoned in the country. Her rescuer brought her up to date on vaccinations, spayed her, and put her on heartworm preventative. She is negative for heartworms. She is paper trained for potty indoors and does go outside too.
She is a good girl. She gets excited for walks and attention once she gets over being timid in new siutations. We do know she would love a loving home and blossom into a wonderful companion! We are not sure how she is with children.

| Dogs don't get any sweeter than this girl! | After being dumped at the local animal shelter because her owners said they just didn’t want her any longer, we knew Molly deserved better than that and we are now trying to find a wonderful home for this awesome dog.
She will make a great dog for a family with kids or a person or couple who wants a dog to hang out with them, take walks with, etc. Molly loves to run around and play with toys and play fetch. She’d be a great fit for a leisure runner.
Molly is 55lbs, spayed, crate trained, house broken, basic obedience trained, loving, gentle, sweet, and silly.
If you are interested in learning more about Molly, I can share with you a short YouTube video of Molly playing and taking a command from a 4 year old. She will make you smile!
Molly would love to meet you. If you give her a chance, you will see the gem that she is. | | lab, spayed female

| Calm, Adult Gentlemen | | Treat is a sweet gentlemen. He is approximately 4 years old. He has a good 8-10 years ahead of him. He loves people and greets everyone with a tail-wag. He will sit and lay down and walk on a leash. His training needs to be worked on more regularly to be finessed, but he obviously knows commands. He is also crate trained and does well loose inside the house.
He is an escape artist and that is how he became stray. He is a wonderful companion for an adopter who will not leave their dog unattended outside. If you leave him unattended he is pretty ingenious about getting out of an enclosed area. He will enjoy playing outside with you and walks (or jogs) for exercise. Otherwise, he will enjoy being by your side in the house or apartment. An aprtment may be a good option fo him since he can't be left in a yard unattended.
He is currently receiving heartworm treatment. We will continue to work with the adopter even after the adoption to ensure his heartworms are removed, if he is adopted before the final heartworm test to determine him "heartworm clear". In the current pictures (Nov09) he was recently shaved to clean him up! He is gorgeous with his longer, aussie coat. | | Aussie mix, neutered male, 40lbs, Handsome fellow and Willing to please!

| Lovebug looking for a loving home! | Ellie Mae is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. It is unfortunate her family didn't value her enough to pick her up when they returned from vacation.
She is 103lbs of love and fun. She loves to keep you company while you watch tv - will share the couch, but if she stretches out, there isn't much room for you :o). Walks are her favorite, next to going for car rides. She knows how to give hugs - yes, her paws almost reach your shoulders. She likes other dogs and seems to care less about cats.
Ellie Mae is four years old, spayed, house trained, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. She is a very gentle dog - which is surprising due to her size. If you're a big dog person, Ellie Mae is the one for you. | | rottweiler, spayed female, 100lbs, Peaceful and Loving

| Rocky: A LOVE Machine! | | This dog is incredibly eye-catching! You will fall in love when you see him. He has now completed a basic training class at the Lee Mannix Training Center. Rocky's foster continues to work with him regularly on basic commands and he is exxcelling! He just wants to please! He comes when he is called no matter where he is on his current property. It is pretty cool! He is an active dog who would do best with an active adoptive family. I don't think he has ever met a person or dog he does not like. He has an amazing and beautiful heart.
This dog would make a fun, active companion! Enjoy this one! We think he may be an Aussie/lab mix. He has a naturally docked tail. | | Aussie/Lab, neutered male, 85lbs, Loving, active large boy!

| | | Riley was recently pulled from the TLAC's euthanasia list. He's a 5 years young mutt. Riley likes to split his time between playing and relaxing 20/80. He's already house and crate trained and he knows sit very well. Riley just began obedience training at Lee Mannix and doing great. Riley really likes being with his foster mom and voices his opinion if he doesn't get to go for a walk with the other dogs (which he'll get to do right after his leash training is complete). He loves riding in the car and playing tug-of-war. He's even good at the vet! Riley's a cutie with a lot of years left in him to be a part of some lucky family. | | Lab/Ridgeback Mix, neutered male, 88lbs | | |

| Ready to Use his Magic for Good! | | We found Merlin as a 8-9 week old puppy wandering down a country road! No one claimed him so one of our fosters took him and fell in love, adopting him. Merlin has received an excellent grounding as a result. He knows sit, down, how to walk on a leash, and even "shakes" your hand! He is so smart and wants to please! He is currently learning to live well with children and has been well socialized, traveling with his family where ever they go! He enjoys playing with the active 8 year old boy.
Merlin is a typical heeler and will need to be given boundaries and clear expectations. Once he understands his boundaries, he is excellent. He has received that in his current home. It is unfortunate, the family is not able to keep him at this time due to personal obligations. Merlin is now 8 months old. He will make a GREAT running partner! Merlin is a mix, with many characteristics of a heeler. However, unlike a heeler, he appears very social with people. This is a strong positive for him and likely due to his excellent and early training. We do require all adopters to take basic obedience training. Merlin is already excelling at this. You will need to catch up! Please read about heelers to learn more about them! See this link: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/australiancattledog.htm

| Loving Boy Looking for his Forever Home | | Hank is a sweet Australian Cattle dog mix who is about 1 1/2 years old. This poor guy has had a rough few weeks. He originally showed up as a stray outside of a dog kennel, where he slept out in the cold rain with no food for several days before they took him to the shelter. He also has a dislocated hip due to some sort of trauma while he was a stray that limits his movement. You’d never know that Hank has been through so much though! He is very affectionate and loyal and wants to be near “his people” most of the time. Though we’ve only had him for a few days, he’s already learning how to walk on a leash and does very well without pulling. He’s also housebroken and came to us knowing a few basic obedience commands. Hank is heartworm negative, vaccinated, and microchipped, and neutered. He will be having surgery soon for the hip injury. In the meantime, he does alright getting around and even tries to run in the yard a little when he’s feeling energetic. Though he loves people, he’s a little unsure about other dogs, but he’s working on socialization and has been doing much better lately. Not sure about how he would get along with cats. | | Cattle Dog mix, neutered male, 40lbs | | |

| | | UPDATE: Teddy is a very sweet, senior Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix. Teddy's story is unfortunately not unusual. He was a senior dog dumped at TLAC. The right thing to do for a senior dog with unaffordable medical issues would be the original owner have him humanely euthanized. The transition to death is most calm and soothing when the owner, the dog has known all his life, is with him for his final breath. Instead, many people can not handle this final humane step for their pet and dump their seniors at TLAC. Most are euthanized in an impersonal space and spend their last days in a very stressful, unknown kennel situation. This is an unfair end to your lifetime companion's brief time on earth.
We want to announce that Teddy is no longer available for adoption. He has moved into hospice care with his foster. We believe Teddy has about one year left.
Teddy was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis, hypothyroidism, and Cushing's disease, in addition to his severe arthritis. His monthly medical care will cost approximately: $55 Donations to help with his medical care would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate to Teddy, please indicate the donation is for Teddy. Anything is appreciated.

| This pretty girl has so much character & charm! | |
Daisy is loyal, cuddly, sturdy, and smart! She’s already graduated from basic obedience with Lee Mannix. She’s housebroken and has been introduced to agility. Daisy would love to model for you. She’ll put on anything from a cute collar, her santa’s helper hat, or show off the sporty side in her all star dog pink hoodie or her UT collar. As soon as she’s dressed she heads to the front door so she can show the world how adoreable she is. She loves to show off her new toys too. She carries them around prancing with high steps & tosses her toys around just as cute as can be. She just loves to clowning around in the typical boxer style. Daisy gets along well with children and loves her canine buddy Harley. She thinks cats are fun to chase & might be good to taste so she needs to be in a cat free home. Come check her out at one of our meet & greets so you can see just how affectionate this lovely lady is. She’s sure to charm your socks off!
Update: Daisy is an AKC Canine Good Citizen!! She passed her test in September. Way to go Daisy!!
